The American Saddlebred Sport Horse is
thrilled to announce the addition of a conformation clinic with
World renowned Olympic competitor, Judge, Instructor, and clinician
Hilda Gurney sharing her expertise on our website. Ms. Gurney will
review three pictures per clinic, and offer her opinions as to the
horses suitability as a sport horse.
For consideration as an entry in the clinic, please forward a
picture of your American Saddlebred, presented as a sport horse, to
gallery@americansaddlebredsporthorse.com
Be sure to note that this is an entry in the clinic, and let us know
your horses name, and breeding.
This is an unprecedented opportunity to learn from one of the most
respected Sport Horse judges in the world- and we are honored at Ms.
Gurney's participation.
What
Type of Photo Should I Submit?
In
order to effectively judge the conformation of your horse, we ask
that photos be submitted with the horse standing in either a square
position or , preferably, in an open livestock stance. The photo
should be taken directly from the side...the horse should be
parallel to the camera, not at an angle. The horse should NOT be
stretched. The photo of the filly at right shows the open
livestock stance. The legs closest to the camera should be stood up
square and the legs on the off-side should be one step back in front
and one step forward behind. If you're unsure which photo best
shows off your horse's conformation, please submit several and we
will choose the best photo to put before Ms. Gurney. Please do not
submit photos of your horse in motion.
Please Note:
Your
horse does NOT need to be in training as a sport horse to be judged
in this clinic. Your horse can be in any profession, from Saddle
Seat Show Horse to Pasture Potato. Your horse's conformation will
be judge in regard to his apparent suitability for a sport horse.
We encourage all ASB owners to submit their horse for consideration.
